[She laughs a bit.]

[She blinks a bit, surprised at the interruption. Then she shrugs, uncaring.]

He can't get to me right now. And even if he could, he's too weak from suddenly remembering he has feelings.

[She gives Kikyo a steady look, calm and confident.]

He is still Naraku. Even I would not approach him so - [Her whole argument is falling flat. She doesn't even have her bow.] If you anger him, he will hurt you.

Oh, like that's never happened before.

[She rolls her eyes.]

No matter how much of a tantrum he throws, he's still the same sad little person he's always been. And I'm not afriad of him.

[No way, too busy being personality flipped and reckless.]

[ Naraku's breathing is erratic and labored. His teeth are grit. Suddenly, the Saimyosho in the room are waking up, their wings buzzing loudly in unison. ]

[The change is palpable. Kikyo stiffens, on alert, her gaze passing quickly from the Saimyosho to Naraku.]

She was speaking out of pain and anger.

From:

She knows nothing of pain.

[ The Saimyosho haven't left yet. Naraku's breathing really hard, his fists clenched. ]

From:

There is no reason she should know. She is young. [She moves to cup his face between her hands.] Naraku, stop.

From:

[ If it wasn't for the fact that she was holding his face like that, he'd have ignored her completely. Same with the fact that she's claiming to love him now.

His eyes clamping shut, he finally makes a hmph sound, and the Saimyosho go back to sleep. ]

Shameful that I acquiesce merely because it is you who asked.

[In the back of her mind, Kikyo is surprising herself. Not only is she touching Naraku, but she's comforting him. Without fear of deadly repercussions.

Adstringendum is having its way with them. But, even knowing that, she has no desire to leave him. Not yet.]

... [She feels herself smiling at the sound he makes.] Thank you. [Brushing back his bangs, she kisses his forehead. At the touch, her mind reels and she pulls back awkwardly, wincing.]

[ The way she kissed him made his heart flutter, and his eyes widen. Jeez Kikyo, he's been waiting for years from that. He's so stunned that he doesn't realize she had winced and pulled back. Instead, he blinks, and simply resumes his seated position against the wall, blushing slightly. ]
